Dear Reader, Squat Challenge for Sensitives: An annual program for sensitive nervous systems. Why August? I realized doing bodyweight squats had a huge impact on my nervous system and mental health which aligned perfectly with Differential Susceptibility month. How long is it? This year for the first time, I'm doing the Squat Challenge the whole month. 10 Squats a day for 30 days. But no one is policing you (or me). What does it cost? You choose. There are three rates: $7, 17, or 27 for the month. You should choose the rate that will make you most likely to watch the videos and do the squats. If you need to pay more to keep yourself accountable, you can send me a donation, lol. I won't know how much you are paying. I don't look. How does it work? We will send you videos 3-4 times a week to inspire you. And you will be invited to join me live on Zoom or IG a few times during the month to squat together and check in. IN FACT, the first LIVE CHECK-IN, a 10-minute Zoom is TODAY! Want to check it out? Come on over and squat with me, no commitment. As a sensitive person with a reactive nervous system, you are EXTREMELY responsive to intervention! There are so many ways we can reset, heal, and recover, and one of my favorites is body weight exercise. That's why I created the Squat Challenge to align with Differential Susceptibility month. Join a diverse group of intrepid adventurers who agree to do 10 (only 10?) squats every day. Even if you join today, you will still receive all the videos. Most importantly, you will know you are part of an intrepid group of sensitives committed to mental, emotional, and nervous system health. Alane Freund, MS, MA |

Dear Reader, Why Pulling Away from What Is Hard Always Makes It Worse | Pema Chödrön Did you have a chance to check out this short interview with Pema Chödrön? When my life was falling apart (again) in 2004, my therapist referred me to Pema's book, When Things Fall Apart. It was truly eye-opening to me... and counterintuitive. It's a lesson I get to learn over and over again: Pulling away from what is hard makes it worse. I was raised with "When the going gets tough, the tough get going...
