Sunday Squat Live - TOMORROW

Dear Reader,

Drop and give me 10 SQUATS!

Why? I’m sure you have heard that we need to do 100 squats a day to age well and live well regardless of our age. 100 feels like A LOT. Could you start with 10 and see how it impacts your day? Are you in?

If you want to regulate your nervous system, you have to move. This month I’m habit bunching... And I challenge you to join me on our Squat Challenge for Sensitives.

Every time you walk through a door this weekend, use a door knob to balance or the edge of the car door as I am here and do 10 squats... every door! 💙

Curious? Join the Squat Challenge (and me) live on Zoom for 10 minutes (only 10 minutes!) tomorrow, Sunday at 11am Pacific, 2pm Eastern. Learn about the challenge, ask questions, and do 10 squats together.

It's not too late to join the Squat Challenge. We'll still send you all the videos and you can do it August 15th - September 15th... and maybe you will keep doing it all the way to the end of the year.

Here's to taking care of you,
Alane

Dear Reader, Squat Challenge for Sensitives: An annual program for sensitive nervous systems. How did it start? I got on a squatting kick a few years ago in August. (Thanks to reading the great book, Built to Move by the Starretts.) I turned it into a weeklong challenge. I think I might have said 100 squats a day back then!! Wow. Why August? I realized doing bodyweight squats had a huge impact on my nervous system and mental health which aligned perfectly with Differential Susceptibility...

Dear Reader, Why Pulling Away from What Is Hard Always Makes It Worse | Pema Chödrön Did you have a chance to check out this short interview with Pema Chödrön? When my life was falling apart (again) in 2004, my therapist referred me to Pema's book, When Things Fall Apart. It was truly eye-opening to me... and counterintuitive. It's a lesson I get to learn over and over again: Pulling away from what is hard makes it worse. I was raised with "When the going gets tough, the tough get going...
