Dear Reader, What happens when evolution and the forces of nature come together? Magic happens. That’s what I feel when I walk between these two room-sized boulders deposited in the jungle by an ice age glacier. The energy is powerful! And sometimes those powerful forces stop you in your tracks. That is what happened in the Imiloa rio (river for you anglophiles). As the giant boulders settled, the river narrowed and stopped the water with a natural dam. Can you guess what is right behind the dam? Another truly magical spot: The ancient sacred pool. Crystal clear water in the rainforest river. Dip in a toe, rinse your face, or immerse your body. When you cleanse in sacred pools, more than the body is cleansed. Your spirit is renewed. I love sitting on the stones, right in that portal mother nature created. Meditation and breathwork feel different here. I hope you will join me at the ancient watering hole, as indigenous peoples gathered hundreds of years ago, for a morning blessing. We will breathe together, feel the magic, and bond in our sensitive noticing of magic all around us. Of course, on our retreat, you are welcome to visit this sacred portal on your own at any time (that’s my favorite way.) HSP, you are the magic that evolution and mother nature created. You know it, you have felt it. All that deep processing and gorgeous empathy… MAGIC. When you live a busy, high achieving life, your magic is part of your success. Sometimes it feels as though your magic has run out, and it’s so depleting to hit those dry spells. But, it’s not gone… Your magic is always there! All you need is time to Recover, Rest and Restore your heart and mind (body, too, truthfully.) I know that depleted place so well. But I want and need to keep achieving and serving my family and the world. I want to share my gifts, my magic. It takes RETREAT. Retreat from the busy pressures of life. Retreat that honors your sensitive soul. Gentle Recovery. Deep Rest. Restored Magic. I do mini retreats at home. I get away to the woods or the beach for a hike. I sit by the creek. It’s great, but it’s not Imiloa with a community of my peers and a generous, happy, loving staff who I wish lived at my house! Let’s find the magic together. Alane Alane Freund, MS, MA |
