Dear Reader, Are you ready for Costa Rica? 100 days from now, I will meet you there. Beauty is everywhere. Nature provides. But it feels different in the rainforest. The colors are brighter, the forest is lusher, and dang do things grow. When I first got out of the SUV that chauffeured me (after the 15 minute private charter plane ride) I was a little done in. Travel can be exhausting for everyone, but more so for highly sensitive people since we are taking in so much. As we entered the gate, my new friend (staff member, Vielka, who was driving) said “Welcome to the montaña.” I could feel her joy as she returned HOME and welcomed us HOME. That is what they say at Imiloa when you arrive, “Welcome HOME.” We were greeted by many smiling staff, joyous music playing, and wildly beautiful and luxurious surroundings. From the delicious mocktail to the swinging round couch to the carefully created altar, I knew I was in a special and unique place. It’s not just a beautiful jungle resort. It’s intentional. Imiloa is about healing, supporting, and nourishing the human soul. Sure, there are gorgeous flowers throughout the rainforest, surprising in their vivid color and secret spots. But it’s the altar that I love. If you go to Hawaii or Costa Rica on vacation, you’ll see beautiful flower arrangements everywhere. At Imiloa, the locally grown (they have their own “farm” and greenhouse) and jungle provided plants are blessing all who enter with intention. The altar is a place to stop, contemplate, breathe, and pray. “May my time here be fruitful and a blessing to all.” “May my day be filled with light and love.” “I am profoundly grateful for the gifts in my life.” “May this journey help me cleanse, clarify, and create a life that allows me to nourish both myself and the world.” I pray to the universe that you also experience such profound gifts. If you are ready to transform how you retreat, please give me a call to chat. You are ready. I am here to support you. Imiloa awaits. Pura Vida, Alane Freund, MS, MA |

Dear Reader, It's my birthday, and I might cry, but I doubt it. You know why? I'm DESIGNING my day, my year, my life to be compatible with who I am in this world. I'm different than the majority IN SO MANY WAYS! Sometimes it's a drag and so tiring or even annoying. BUT...As I continue to recommit to living a life I love as a highly sensitive introvert with all my other unique temperaments, it gets better and better. It's a practice. I'm not perfect at it (dammit) and I have to recommit daily....
Dear Reader, This is my birthday week (or as my dear friend Shay used to say, birthday month) I'm not sure about my answer. Both and Neither??? Pressure, reflection, expectations, hosting, disappointment, embracing change. What I know for sure is how much more resilient I am when I practice my spirituality tools. As it's November, we are in HSP GRATITUDE MONTH. And I'm making use of my gratitude practices to increase my resilience. ARE YOU? I have a few practices to offer and would love to...
